Lamoille, Nevada

Only 2 miles from Lamoille Canyon turn off, this quiet little town is a major stop for folks enjoying the many outdoor recreation activities the Ruby Mountains have to offer.

In the center of town is Lamoille Grove. One of Elko County's most popular picnic areas. You may be sharing your lunch with the towns local deer herd. Bucks can be seen walking main street in search of a camera to pose for. In June, this park is host to the Lamoille County Fair. Craters from all over the country as well as local talent fill the park and streets in one of the best fairs around.

The Octoberfest Craft Fair is another great event held in Lamoille. Street dances and rib feeds are just a few of the local events that you can find on your visit to Lamoille.

Lamoille's first church, The Little Church of the Crossroads, was dedicated on November 5, 1905. While services had taken place at various locations throughout the valley since 1872, the Lamoille Presbyterian Church was not formally organized until October 1890. The congregation gradually became inactive and was not reorganized until 1904. Members raised $3,000 to pay for the beautiful church's construction. Its centerpiece was two memorial stained glass windows donated by the Greenfield family. By the late 1930's and early 1940's interest had faded. The church, slowly fell into a state of sad disrepair. However starting in the mid-1960's a slow but steady restoration began under the guidance of the Lamoille Women's club. Many local residents also donated time, money, and materials towards the revamping. After over a decade of work the church, one of the most recognized landmarks in the county, was completely restored. It is still in use today, and a must see for any visitor.
