ABOUT THE PARK:
Floyd Lamb State Park has four stocked ponds, picnic areas, barbecues, scenic paths and volleyball and horseshoe facilities on 2,040 acres northwest of Las Vegas. Horse back rides are available. There is a cross-country jumping course for experienced Hunter Jumpers at the park as well.

The city of Las Vegas bought it in 1964. It was converted into a city park and renamed in honor of State Senator Floyd Lamb. In 1977 the park was acquired by the state. Since then it has been operated and maintained by the Division of State Parks.

TULE SPRINGS: The Tule Springs Ranch, located inside the park, is one of the best examples of Pleistocene paleontologic sites in Western North America. The Tule Springs area once was populated with large mammals, very similar to those in found Africa. There are fossil remains of horses, camels, giant sloths, mammoths, bison and other animals to be found in Tule Springs.

FISHING: Visitors with a Nevada fishing license can fish in any of the park's ponds but are limited to three fish per person.
