Crittenden Reservoir

Crittenden Reservoir is a privately owned irrigation impoundment with angler access being provided through negotiated agreement. The dam was built in 1956, creating a reservoir with a maximum surface area of 260 acres with a depth of 40 feet. The storage capacity is 3,600 acre feet, however, the reservoir is only filled to a little over 50% each year before irrigation begins, reducing the reservoir each year to near minimum pool by early fall. No facilities are available and there is no camping allowed long the reservoir shoreline.

BOATING: Boating is permitted and effective for fishing Crittenden, no water-skiing allowed.

FISHING: Float tubing is very popular, and shore fishing is also effective but usually during spring and early summer before aquatic growth occurs.

High productivity of the water lends itself to fly fishing techniques for trout and sometimes bass. The no bait restrictions forces those anglers who do not fly fish to use various lures, which are also effective especially for the bass.

Crittenden Reservoir is stocked annually with primarily Rainbow Trout. Past stocking results of Cutthroat Trout has been less than desirable. Future stocking of hybrid Rainbow X Cutthroat is anticipated. a natural reproducing population of Largemouth Bass maintains numbers sufficient to meet most bass angler demands.

See regulations before fishing this reservoir.
